The Müenzenrieder vine-growing estate lies in the Neusiedlersee/ Seewinkel national park. Through natural cultivation methods, rigorous harvest scrutiny, and controlled cellar operations, winegrowers Johann and Johannes Müenzenrieder produce potent wines marked with regional characteristics and tremendous intensity. The special microclimate of the sun drenched Seewinkel area allows for fruitful, fresh white wines and dense, robust red wines to flourish. Sämling is renowned for the sweet Austrian wines it produces. The grapes are allowed to botrytize in order to concentrate their flavor similar to the French Sauternes. These wines are among the sweetest in the world, known as Trockenbeerenauslese. It features delicately spiced undertones in the nose, oranges, mango, apricots, and enormous complexity.
Raisining on the vine makes Sämling Trockenbeerenauslese intensely sweet with concentrated, complex flavors. It pairs well with Foie Gras or delicate desserts like fine custard, soufflé, or Crème Brûlée. It is also great on its own.
