Glacier Vodka is a handcrafted blend using Idaho russet potatoes and pure Rocky Mountain water. The prestigious Beverage Testing Institute has consistently rated Glacier Idaho Potato Vodka with a Gold Medal Excellence rating in 2001, 2003, 2007 and again in 2010 with an outstanding 93 points. In the United States, most vodka is made in industrial alcohol plants operated by the major grain conglomerates. The alcohol is sold to industrial users of ethanol and vodka producers who dilute it with distilled or chemically treated water sell the result as vodka. Glacier Potato Vodka possesses a subtle hint of viscosity and a smooth, soft feel on the palate without the harshness of grain vodkas. Glacier's distillation is another part of its superior taste. The oldest distillers use pot stills and repeat the process several times. Every repeated distillation removes some of the impurities that are created in this procedure. But there is a physical limit to what can be removed through this process. After the third distillation the producer is just inflating costs, not making better vodka. A more modern method of distillation uses a series of high rising steel columns through which through which the fermented mash is continuously distilled to a higher proof and a cleaner end product. Glacier is produced in a four column, multi-plate, continuous distillation process that elevates the proof of alcohol being distilled while removing virtually all impurities. Column stills give Glacier’s master distillers the ability to truly handcraft a product that critics say is one of the best vodkas in the world and it's made in America. Available in 750 ML, 1 Liter, 1.75 Liter, and 50 ML sizes.
