Grape pips from cultivated vines were found in the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia more than 8,000 years ago. The roots of Georgian vitculture have been traced back by archeology to 6,000 BC. With evidence of Georgia as the "birthplace of wine," Georgian wine exports are growing each year, and the U.S. is just starting to recognize them.
